If you’re following the Tyrant on Twitter or Facebook (or perhaps you’re an avid reader of Frockwriter), y’all may know that the Tyrant is in the midst of the most epic, life-changing, blog-ortunity.
In what appears to be a first-of-its-kind social media campaign, PayPal has bequeathed both HRH the Despotic Queen of Shoes and the Style Tyrant (and 4 other bloggers) with a $12K shopping spree. In return, I’ve been asked to document my online shopping experience for PayPal’s new fashion-orientated blog, LUSTABLE.
I’m sorry that I’ve yet to mention this here (or over on Imelda) but with $12K to spend (over 12-weeks), I’ve had my snout buried deep in the clients arse interwebs spending like the weapon of mass consumption I was born to be.
However and much to chagrin of the Tyrant’s inner-circle, my previous weeks purchases’ (like dropping $500 on socks) haven’t honoured the level of stomach-churning excess that I’ve become synonyms for…until now.
Not so long ago a Melbourne-based, online bespoke tailoring service called NiAlma was bought to my attention and in spite of what my white trash Lustable spending habits may suggest, I have a deep-seated appreciation of bespoke. But like most, dropping coin on bespoke anything is beyond my reach.
Intrigued, I researched the site and aside from the most awe-inspiring selection of fabrics and style options my shit was flipped most by the price.
In Australia we’ve been conditioned to pay upwards of $249 AUS for a ‘designer’ shirt but on NiAlma, the entry price-point for a custom-made shirt is $99 AUS.
This, my loyalists, is where things get murky and full disclosure must be made.
After I flipped my aforementioned shit we hunted down NiAlma’s co-founder Stuart Andary to insist NiAlma join the Mother & Father PR family - not before I placed an order for 7 custom-made shirts.
Obviously I’ll go into more detail on the Lustable blog but for the time being, I’m thoroughly enamored by the wickedly perverse idea of wearing tonal autumnal colours (like this soon-to-be polluted paisley / check combo in khaki/brown) during the Australian summer that you can expect to see more!

ps. The reason why - as if anyone gives a fuck - I'm wearing sunglasses inside, is that I've yet to find new reading goggles...and as everyone who wears glasses knows, the thought of being photographed without 'em is terrifying...or is that just me?
pps. Chrissy this post's for you.
